When I read books and draw fanarts I usually have my own characters in mind and VERY RARELY I change ideas after I see the movie/tv show or whatever official they come up with. With the A song of Ice and Fire every single character remained in my head as I imagined it BEFORE watching Game of Throne. Same for Harry Potter. I thought that Hunger games would fall in this category too, and even though I LOVED every single actor in the movie and how they managed their character I still have "my Katniss", "my Peeta", "my Gale", "my Effie"....
XD but Woody!Haymitch won, and I was weak.

I love how you draw these characters so much! Effie and Haymitch are amazing characters, and I really like how when you draw them you can just tell what their personalities are like. I ship these two (no regrets) and this drawing makes me think of when there is a part of the games where Katniss or Peeta are causing a lot of problems for them and it looks like they will both lose. Haymitch goes to liquor and Effie goes with him to make sure he doesn't do something stupid, maybe having a drink herself.

Yes, this is my own headcanon, but your art fit right in with it.

This is adorable, I love it. Effie is so cute... and this is such a random part of the image to point out, but I'm in a figure drawing class right now and always have trouble with feet. Her feet look really good. xD I'm reblogging this on tumblr.

I see that now! My feet always turn out looking gnarly, so I just kind of hide them the best way I can. Or my figures just don't have feet. They just kind of fade out. xD

That reminded me of one of my comic teacher's most trusted advice: if you don't know how to draw a hand just put something in front of it. A coffeepot or some leaves, a three, anything. Unless you end up drawing porn for a living. Then you'll have to learn how to do hands: there's no escaping.

I imagine hands are a very important part of porn. I've gotten better with hands, luckily, but I used to hide them behind skirts, their body, whatever, to keep from drawing them. xD
