Yet another Hunger Games fanart!

Since last week I did Katniss and Peeta for fairness I did Katniss and Gale too. Because I like them both and because the whole "team peeta" and "team gale" thing is stupid.

HOLY SHIT PROPER BOWS. no seriously, I'm a traditional archery hobbyist, and it is annoying how many people think Katniss would have a Recurve (the kind that curve forwards at the ends), those require steam moulding, which is where you soak it in steam for a few hours then mould it while it's supple. Katniss is holding the arrow and string weird though.

But you've got to understand that most of us fans don't have the same level of knowledge about archery :).

which is why the new Disney-Pixar movie "Brave" is gonna be awesome, not only they get all the bow handling perfect, they also get the arrow flight right, even the Archers Paradox. The Archer's Paradox is that In order to be accurate, an arrow must have the correct stiffness, or "spine", to flex out of the way of the bow and return back to the correct path as it leaves the bow.

it's cool. after all, she couldn't shoot the bow right in the movie.

yeah she didn't, for the type of bow she used she wouldv'e had to anchor differently. however the only reason she anchored under her chin was so we could see her face better in the film. My archery coach told me, and he trained the woman who trained jennifer lawerence in the film :)

ahah! I can see where you come from! :D
My sport is sailing and every time I go livid when there are discrepancies and inaccuracies (you can hear me screaming in front of pirate movies "why on earth would you do THAT NOW? Do you have a death wish?!?!?"). Truth is I did research for this (as I always do) but research can go only so far when you don't know the subject at all. XD BTW hands like that were difficult so I changed those slightly to make them look decent.

(On the other hand I did not had to do research while drawing Finnick doing knots. XD I know knots very well!)

Great work =D, but let me share an amazing fact with you about proportion: The foot is always the length between your wrist and your inner elbow. Check this [link] to see what I mean. When I read that, I was like :omg:, and I never got my foot proportions wrong again.

I only say this because I notice Gale's feet were a tad small.

Yeah, I know. I studied anatomy for years and if you take a ruler you'll find that the size is indeed the same. Actually photoshop tells me that the foot is slightly longer.

thanks!

I agree. We shouldn't let this fandom get anywhere near twilight.

Yeah! We're not Twilight, we need to unite against them (jk, jk jk!). Seriously though, I prefer Peeta. But I don't think there should be teams.

The details in this are wonderful. Their expressions and facial features show their personalities perfectly, it's great :D I'm really jealous of that tree as well :)

i love them, but as best friends, i think that friends (katniss and gale) must have similar interests or personalities and couples must complement, like peeta and katniss do :)

I agree, there is no need for the establishment of "team peeta" and "team gale". It links the book to twilight, and that shouldnt even be related to the hunger games.
This is very nice and well drawn, by the way... I especially like the poses.

I agree. The teams aren't worth it since we all know who she ends up with in Mockingjay...
Anyways, NOT for Gale, but i love this! :D
