I love love love the solid yellow on top of the painting. Im a huge fan of that style of adding interest and contrast to images and do it often. And, like I've read in the comments here, I've found a lot of people don't "get it". I think you chose a nice tone of yellow too, a little on the warm side to bring out the peaches and pinks and really cool down that blue. Lovely work, like the rest of your gallery
I really really like it!! Just one thing... that yellow stands out way too much...I would have used some crimson/bloody red with little variations, not the same shade. But overall I like it very much!
Can you explain why you think that? in my opinion they really complete the composition, both chromatically and stylistically. I honestly think they're what gives this painting some depths, which would be otherwise quite plain.
I think it's beautiful, too, but I agree with Tinkoo. It think that because the floral bit is quite flat, it detracts from the depth of the girl's hair and face. But if you take it away, then the painting does feel unbalanced/unfinished. Hmm.
However, I'm not an artist, never will be. Can't draw, so ...
well, I'm not the first one to use "flat" digital looking shapes in pictorial paintings. Actually in the last years many had, as the contrast really works. (James Jean is an example: [link] )
