Hi I'm Martina

and I live in Rome, Italy.
I studied as a Comic artist and I'm working as a Comic colourist and illustrator.

I like experimenting with all sort of media, 'cause I get easily bored, so my gallery is filled with digital, vector, flash animations, pixel art as well as traditional, acrylics, inks, pencils... My absolute Love goes to watercolour. I couldn't live without my watercolours! I've got them on my desk 24/7 as long as a jar with dirty water. I watercolour even when I'm on the phone, when I'm watching tv, when I'm in front of my mac (which suffers for it, it's quite stained...).

I love italian comics, american comics and argentinian comics. I couldn't live without Eduardo Risso, Hugo Pratt, Gianni Deluca, Carlos Gomez, James Jean, Crepax, John J Muth, Stuart Immonen, Dino Battaglia... and the list is long. I don't crave for manga style, because I have an hated past with it (hence my nick) and I still suffer the consequences. It's like a curse: once in manga always in manga. But I still love Hiroaki Samura like the first time I read Blade of the Immortal.

There's too much coffeine in my bloodstream and a lack of real spice in my life.

I'm a fan of pop culture: I love rock, new wave, industrial and post-punk. I love Cinema, fashion and tv-shows. Give me science fiction and you'll see a happy woman. Give me an old style graphic adventure game and I'll play for hours.

I came across your work via Tumblr (someone I follow reposted your "Renly's Court" piece) and I'm absolutely in love with your style, your original work and your fanart both. But your fanart in particular amazes me: your visions of the characters you paint are so clear and interesting, and I adore how you stay true to your own mental pictures, rather than going with the more popular film/television versions.

Well, I don't see the point in trying to replicate tv shows versions. There's already the tv show version for that

I mean, I get bored when I see the last portrait of Emilia Clarke on deviantart, what's the point in that? let me see YOUR Daenerys. If I want Emilia I'll watch the show.
So, that's the reason behind me stubbornly sticking with my visions of the characters.
